I set out to create Seven Flowers of Luxury crème – formulated for face, body, and hair– from a childhood ideal of beauty. When I was young the only time we watched old movies was late at night on television. In a lingering memory of mine from a French movie that I’ve never known the title of, an actress seated at a vanity with a round mirror is talking quietly with someone off camera. Applying what appears to be a rich creme to her face and neck, she is speaking while looking at herself… it is all very black and white– and so appealing. This simple image has stayed with me and it is the basis for what I think of as skin care: rich, pure crème applied to a clean face. Devoid of excessive additives or perfumes. The application finished by running hands over each other and through the hair.
